Taiwan is an Asian country located in Pacific Ocean, neighbiring to China, Japan, Vietnam and Philippines. The area is around 36000 km2, similar to Holland. The transportation is convenient as major cities offer options of train, High Speed Railway and bus. Subway service and International Airport are available in the capital Taipei, and major cities such as Taichung, Kaohsiung  . From the north to the south is around 90 min by HSR and 5 hrs by train.

 

Taiwan is a very green country, covered by 70% forest. It is also a blue country since the island is surrounded by the ocean. Aside from the nature, the vibrant yet exciting lifestyle provides people with 24 hrs of modern ease.

Taiwan is on the inter-zone between the tropical and subtropical. The average temperature is 20-30 C. There is no obvious dry and rainy distinction, however, the raining season can be April to May. Most Taiwanese housings is collective / single unit building. The room measurement is called "ping", around 180cm*180cm. One studio room can be 6 - 15 pings, while an apartment with more than one room can be 15 - 50 pings. The monthly rent can range from 200 - 400 USD. In Taiwan, a suite usually doesn't include kitchen, due to the fact that there is a large selection of food available might just in the neighborhood

In Taiwan, the official language is traditional Chinese, instead of simplified one. Traditional Chinese are also used in Hong Kong, Macow, Singapore, while the simplified Chinese is used in China. There is not much differentiations between two Chinese, 90% terms are the same. However, the pronunciation in China tends to show obvious intonation and stress. Although Taiwan is a small island, there are hidden natural and cultural treasures to be discovered :) The population is composed of Han Chinese and Austronesians. In the country areas, traditional 3-section compound buildings made of red bricks is common . Taiwan has nurtured massive coral reefs and so diverse that diving magazines list Taiwan one of the least discovered diving sites.

Taiwanese food has inherited the Chinese cooking heritage but also absorbed the essence from neighbor countries like Japan, Korea and southeast Asian countries. Pacing on the international stage, Taiwan has shown diversities and bring its uniqueness to the world.
